Joanna Beata Michlic was a social and cultural historian specializing in the history of the Holocaust and its memory in Europe, East European Jewish childhood, the rescue of Jews, and antisemitism and nationalism in Europe. In January 2023, she began her two-year appointment as a Visiting Hedda Andersson Professor of Contemporary History and the Holocaust in Lund University, Sweden.
